Families living at our Brookwood Village community are always looking for kid-friendly things to do in Oklahoma City during the winter months. While we do have onsite playgrounds that can help in a pinch, finding indoor activities that are entertaining and stimulating on rainy, snowy days is important. One place to look is the Oklahoma History Center on Nazih Zuhdi Drive in OKC.

Along with their fascinating permanent and current exhibits that highlight various aspects of Oklahoma history and its residents, the Oklahoma History Center (OHC) has an active Kid’s Department that offers many exhibits, demonstrations and classes throughout the year. Look through OHC’s calendar listings, and you will find weaving and spinning demonstrations, printmaking, quilting, candle making, and sewing classes scheduled for the winter months of 2014.

Got budding “Project Runway” designers in your home? On Saturday, Feb. 1, a day-long Milliner’s Class is scheduled where participants make their own Edwardian red hats for Valentine’s Day. Materials, lunch and an exhibit are included.

Find the Oklahoma History Center just 15 minutes north of our apartments close to I-35. Contact us today for more information about the location of our apartments and townhouses in South Oklahoma City.
